As a young boy growing up in Alabama, I had no idea about trout fishing. At the age of 12 I saw Joe Brooks with Curt Gowdy fishing with a fly rood and was hooked from that moment on. I have been guiding the Tailwaters of upper Tennessee for the last 13 years. It has been a dream come true for me. I love the outdoors and the need for the preservation for our natrual beauty we have in this part of the country. I have 3 children and 7 grandchildren I hope can enjoy this great sport as much as I have. My wife and I reside in Johnson City, Tn. and live close to both the South Holston and Watauga Rivers. We have lived and been able to fish in many of our western states and in Mexico, but this is home. We attend Church at Chinquapin Grove Baptist Church which has been a very important part of our life, after all Jesus hung around with fishermen.
"When I get on the water I want to make sure that both me and my guests are comfortable and safe. I want a boat that I can depend on and can take the harsh treatment I face every day. When you are paddling through large rocks and hazardous drops you have to have confidence in your equipment. I paddle both a Low Pro and a Skiff. Each boat fit’s in my guiding needs. If you don’t have a Hyde boat, I suggest you look at one. I not only use Hyde Boats, I sell them."
