Recreation at Hyde Lodge
At an elevation of over 6,500 feet, there is
usually plenty of snow from Mid November until Mid March in
Island Park. Not many people realize that Island Park offers
nearly 100 more miles of groomed trails than neighboring West
Yellowstone and recieves an average of 86 more inches of snow
each winter. The area has over 600 miles of groomed snowmobile
trails and acres upon acres of powder filled meadows. Riders
can select from the adventurous challenge of Two Top Mountain
or one of the many scenic trails in the shadows of the Tetons.
Yellowstone National Park is also within easy riding distance
of the lodge.
Cross country skiing is also very popular in the Island Park
area. Harriman State Park is a wonderful place for those seeking
solitude. Skiers can witness trumpeter swans at Harriman or
experience the challenge & scenic beauty of Mesa Falls.
The Island Park area offers something for skiers of all abilities.
