Philip Chavez
Philip began his fly fishing career in
California in 1974 as a stockroom clerk in one of the
first specialty fly shops, Creative Sports Enterprises,
owned by one of the Henry's Fork's most renowned anglers
- Andre Puyans. In 1983 Philip received his B.S. in
Mechanical Engineering from Fresno State. He spent the
next ten years ascertaining that fly fishing was, without
a doubt, more fun than engineering. In 1993 Philip hooked
up with "Andy" again and began spending vacations
fishing the Henry's Fork and teaching fly casting at
the Andre Puyans Fly Fishing Seminars held every summer
on the Henry's Fork. In April of 1997, tired of the
hustle and bustle of California and the 900 mile commute
to his favorite waters - Philip moved to Idaho, eventually
finding a home with Hyde Outfitters. Philip is a FFF
Certified Casting Instructor. His favorite pastime is
stalking large rainbows on the Ranch. |
